Magnetic Sensors

PSI have developed a novel technique for measuring the position of ferro magnetic steel targets in extremely harsh environments. The patent pending technology was originally developed for heat exchanger applications*, this high temperature positioning sensor has the ability to resolve distances to an accuracy <0.1mm over a 0 – 30mm range, completely uncooled in temperatures up to 500°C.

Remarkably this accuracy is maintained even in high vibration situations at these elevated temperatures. A magnetic sensor suitable for a variety of situations where distance measurement at high temperatures, without the aid of a cooling system is desired.
