The use of programmable logic allows integration of virtually any CMOS imaging system to the local processor and ultimately the outside world. Extending the programmable logic functionally allows onboard signal processing to provide smart camera functionality.
Embedded microcontrollers provide bespoke control functionality providing low cost smart camera functions or simple automatic control of key camera functions.
Interfacing to the outside world is application specific in terms of data rate, distance and connection means. With control of this interface the optimal interface can be employed for the application.
